For the event at DIEZE Warehouse, LF Collectif created the video scenography surrounding the Monsieur BMX installation.
“For some time, I had been thinking about creating a figure on a bike that resembled me, inspired by the universe of Mark Jenkins in terms of technique — something highly visual.
For the Home Street event in January 2014, I had imagined installing a mannequin resembling me on the roof of the house. I first created it at DIEZE, using my own body, my trousers and my sneakers.
I began by taping my legs over tights. The tape retains the shape once removed; I then sealed it and filled it with expanding foam and reinforcing steel.”
